It has the same APS-C size sensor as in Canon&#8217;s other non full frame DSLR cameras, but is such a small camera compared to a DSLR. \u00a0It has no view finder, so you have to work with the touch screen. \u00a0But what a touch screen! \u00a0It is as fast and responsive as a smart phone; very easy to use, and very useful. \u00a0Maybe not quite as quick as the 2 dial system on my 40D, but still pretty good.<\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_7_2_1_1375199327491_2566\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_7_2_1_1375199327491_2567\">I&#8217;d taken some shots here in town, and they seemed very nice. \u00a0This weekend we decided to take a trip to the desert. \u00a0If this new camera could handle the kind of landscapes out in Anza Borrego, it could handle anything. \u00a0A couple of caveats, however, I \u00a0didn&#8217;t bring a tripod and I didn&#8217;t try to use Auto Exposure bracketing. \u00a0Instead I took \u00a0a lot of landscape and people shots. \u00a0I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. \u00a0There was enough data in the shots that doing a single shot HDR in Photomatix worked fine.<\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_7_2_1_1375199327491_2568\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_7_2_1_1375199327491_2569\">The specific location was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a title=\"My hike \/ Randy Stetz \" href=\"http:\/\/www.everytrail.com\/guide\/slot-canyon-anza-borrego-desert-state-wilderness\" target=\"_blank\">Borrego Mountain Wash<\/a><\/span> in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a title=\"Anza Borrego State Park \/ Randy Stetz\" href=\"http:\/\/www.parks.ca.gov\/?page_id=638\" target=\"_blank\">Anza Borrego State Park<\/a><\/span>. \u00a0This was a new slot canyon for me. \u00a0I enjoyed it quite a bit. \u00a0Being Southern California, it didn&#8217;t have the wild colors you&#8217;ll find in Utah. \u00a0But it was still a beautiful spot. \u00a0For the full gallery,<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <a title=\"Randy Stetz San Diego gallery\" href=\"https:\/\/click-sandiego.com\/rsi\/?gallery=san-diego\" target=\"_blank\">click here.<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>~ Randy<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div id=\"attachment_1688\" style=\"width: 210px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/click-sandiego.com\/rsi\/files\/2013\/07\/IMG_0299.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1688\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1688\" alt=\"Nathan entering the slot canyon\" src=\"https:\/\/click-sandiego.com\/rsi\/files\/2013\/07\/IMG_0299-200x300.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/click-sandiego.com\/rsi\/files\/2013\/07\/IMG_0299-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/click-sandiego.com\/rsi\/files\/2013\/07\/IMG_0299.jpg 667w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-1688\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nathan entering the slot canyon<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Randy&#8217;s New Toy, the Canon EOS M &#8211;\u00a0 I finally got to take out my new toy this weekend. \u00a0I&#8217;ve recently purchased a Canon EOS M, with a new mirrorless, interchangable lens.
