Please note that there were 59 LGBTQ applicants for the Lyle Rossman Memorial Senior
\nScholarship Award last year. As far as we have determined, this is the only Senior
\nscholarship in the U.S. for LGBTQ people; which has made a strong point of ensuring multi-
\ncultural diversity in its awards. Lyle is pictured (above).
\nOur speaker will be Dr. Wallace Swan. He is one of the initial
\nimplementers of the Youth Scholarship program (now administered by PFund) which has
\nresulted in granting over $700,000 in scholarships for LGBTQ youth; and he has worked for
\na number of years on implementing this Lyle Rossman Memorial Senior Scholarship
\nprogram\u2026He has also served as a past member and officer of the Minneapolis Board of
\nEstimate and Taxation; and is Chair of the American Society for Public Administration LGBT
\nAdvocacy Action Alliance Section.
\nIn addition, we will have a free light dinner with refreshments for all who attend. If you plan
\nto attend, please send an email to swanx009@umn.edu so that we have adequate food and
\nrefreshments on hand; or just drop in at the last minute, because we always have plenty of
\nfood \u2026<\/p>\n
