Sedona Gallery in PDF

November 24, 2009 by admin Leave a Comment

This gallery was ready a few days ago but I thought that it had a color management problem. The reds in photos were WAY too red. (And in Sedona there is a lot of red.) It turns out that in Adobe Acrobat I was defaulting to ProPhoto. Since this is for the web it needed to be sRGB. Problem fixed (at least on my monitor.) Please enjoy my photos from Sedona. Click on the photo to see the PDF.

Grand Teton Black & Whites

November 21, 2009 by admin Leave a Comment

I’ve had a lot of projects in the “almost complete” status for weeks now.  A lot of them are getting close to completion at the same time.  My most recent is a collection of Black & White shots taken in Grand Teton.  It’s surprising how few people have experienced the awesome beauty of Grand Teton.  It’s definitely seen as Yellowstone’s little sister.

Yellowstone Gallery Available

November 20, 2009 by admin Leave a Comment

After weeks of working on my Yellowstone photos, I think I’ve finally picked out my favorite shots. It was difficult but I’m fairly pleased. I hope you like the gallery. I’m going to try this PDF delivery method again. Later I may decide to add this gallery to my web site.

PDF of Yellowstone Black and Whites

November 19, 2009 by admin Leave a Comment

I like the result of clicking to get to a PDF you can view. But I thought that the blog looked a little boring just having a hyper-link. So I wanted to test and see if you can do the same thing with an image as a hyper link. Turns out you can. Since I’m at work I don’t have an image from this set to use. I’ll fix that tonight. But for now you can click on the image and it will open a PDF of my Yellowstone Black & White images.

I heard of an approach on a few different Podcasts (Thoughts on Photography & Lenswork) where you publish a PDF of your work.   Sort of a mini portfolio.  Thought that I would try this with a small batch of Black & White Photos from Yellowstone.  Let me know what you think about this means of presentation.

Norris Basin

November 15, 2009 by admin Leave a Comment

Still trying to get my Yellowstone galleries together.  It’s tough because I’m going back through them for a 3rd time and think about things that need to be worked on.  But while going through a batch I took in Norris Basin, I came across this shot and thought that I need to share this photo.

Straighten Horizon or not?

November 10, 2009 by admin Leave a Comment

And the winner is straight horizon…..

Here is a shot that I like except the horizon isn’t horizontal. But when you straighten it the top on the mountain seems awfully close to the top of the frame. Which do you prefer?

Jackson to Victor pano

November 10, 2009 by admin Leave a Comment

I tried to do this pano before but Photoshop balked. Turns out Photoshop expects the files to be numbered from left to right, and for some reason I had taken the Pano right to left. To fix it, I went into Lightroom and renamed the files. Now I have my Pano…

Sedona Pano

November 8, 2009 by admin Leave a Comment

When I loaded my Sedona gallery, the one Pano that I tried to upload failed. It was too large of a file. I’ve made a slightly smaller version, and have added it. Here is a copy of the Pano and the link to the gallery.
