By the way, that wasn't my favorite pano from that shoot. Here it is:
I had assumed that there wouldn't be much difference in the Merge to Panorama options in Photoshop. But reading a recent Rick Sammon post I realized that it might make a big difference. On this Pano I took on "auto" a lot of the foreground was cut off. I redid the pano using "cylindrical" and a lot more foreground was saved.
In keeping with my current ice theme (Hey I'm a San Diego boy, I need to experience winter too). Here is another shot from my trip to Sedona - New Years 2008. Oak Creek Canyon was the place where Winter had really taken hold. The hike involved a series of ice stream crossings instead of water fording. It was an amazing place and very enjoyable. Some how the photos from that trip never really got worked on. Better late than never.
A few months ago I learned that you can take a single image and run it through Photomatix. I got good results trying this on some recent pics. Today while reviewing photos I may add to my portfolio, I came across some shots I had really enjoyed taking in Sedona back on New Years day 2008. But when I saw how much shadow there was in the photo, I thought that it was time to try a single image Photomatix. I think it brought the picture up a notch.

Still working with Silver Effects Pro....
Well I like this shot a lot, but I feel insecure about it. Maybe it's only a block of ice. I live in California. What do I know of ice? But still I like it. What do you think?

Decided to work on a batch of photos for my portfolio and came across one of my favorite Bryce photos in IR. Since I'd just done a conversion to Black & White using Nik Silver Effects Pro yesterday I thought I'd try it again. I am very impressed.
