Havasu Falls has always been on my bucketlist. When a friend of mine got permits and asked me along, I was stoked!
It was a bit of work organizing 3 nights of primitive camping, along with a 10 mile hike up and down the canyon with a 35 pound pack.
But it was well worth it! The falls and waterholes were magical to explore, though they frequently tested my courage and agility in navigating up and down the slippery cliffs. And so much to photograph. I will not soon forget my time on the Havasupai reservation. Enjoy!
We extended our visit and spent 3 nights...

Santa Cruz Island for 2 nights and 3 days definitely delivered in terms of the diversity we encountered. Native foxes were scampering about everywhere. An apex predator, they had no fear of humans. The abundance of spring flowers added texture to the meadows and rugged coastline. Never had I seen so many dolphins up close in the wild as a massive pod played in the surf alongside our boat. Highly recommend Santa Cruz Island.

This is a pano overlooking Balandras Beach near La Paz. It was taken on a beautiful day, from a hillside overlook. I will be posting the full gallery soon. Click the bottom photo to open full panorama.

We decided on Big Pine as a good central location along the 395. It's close to a lot of great sights, including one that I've wanted to see for years - the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest. If I do this trip again, I'd probably stay in Bishop. It's a mid size town that still has a lot of character - and a pretty good brewery.
I'd gone to Cedar Breaks a few years ago, and I'd fallen in love with with these amazing trees. They're one of the worlds oldest living organisms and you can feel their stoic survival just...

Our friend Richard had traveled the 395 a few years ago and really liked it. I'd done the Northern section back when we bicycled from Lake Tahoe to San Diego (via Yosemite), some 20 years ago. I wanted to do it again, and when we got an invite to Thanksgiving in Vegas, I figured that was sorta kinda on the way. We spent one night in Redlands (a town we like in the Inland Empire), and the next morning we headed up the 395.
The portion of this region of the Owens Valley I was most impressed with was the Alabama...

I have launched a new website that means a lot to me, Bikram's Yoga College of India, San Diego. Over the past year I have been practicing Bikram Yoga, and have endured many challenges, both physically and mentally in learning to adjust to doing Yoga in 105 degrees.
Thank you to my new 'Yoga family', the many friends whom I have made at the studio, and my very good friend Becca, who guided me along; giving sage advice along the way as I soldiered on and nearly gave up. I was honored to be given the task of rebuilding this website. Over time I plan to make it better...

One week, from beginning to completion, was the deadline for La Mesa Wine Works website launch and grand opening. It was an ideal situation in many ways, as Nathan was able to employ all that he has learned over the years in order to make sure things work better down the road. This began with streamlining everything through one Google account and being cognizant of search engine visibility as we filled in the content and set up social media and directories. Brenda and Jenna were very motivated and easy to work with. They understood the value of good imagery and a marketing...

have finally finished going through my photos from San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Queretaro and Mexico City taken this past Christmas/New Years. I loved this trip and truly fell in love with Mexico and its people. Can't wait to go back!
Nathan has been working with Maryanne Nowacki on the launch of her updated website, Accent on Windows. Maryanne was a pleasure to work with and is an aunt of good friend and fellow web developer, Mikel Bruce, owner of Tiny Frog Technology. Like all websites, the process evolved and through a back and forth of ideas, comps, writing and rewriting a website took shape that we feel is one of our best to date. It helps that Maryanne has a solid business, works hard and clearly takes pride in her work. Check her out at Accent on Windows, and let us know what you think!
